I think it is because they celebrate St. John (june 24th) and like all the other "høytid" they do it the evening-night before, so it is gonna be today. And here in Norway it has more a religious meaning (at least that is what they say :P) than in for example, Sweden. The midsummer in Norway was in old times celebrated july 14th or around this date... but now... I think is just about having some fun around the fire, and some beer :P

well... I was planning to have a nice one today, with the kid that is old enough this year, but they are fixing my building and the whole zone, so this year the closest one was far away from here... No st. John's this year for me :(
